Daniel H. Manwaring

January 1, 1973 — July 26, 2014

No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye, you were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why…..On Saturday, July 26, 2014 our hearts were broken with the sudden and unexpected passing of our loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, Daniel H. Manwaring, 41, of W. Whitcomb Hill Rd., Barton. Dan was born on January 1, 1973 in Johnson City a son of Henry and Lamoine (Huntley) Manwaring. He was a graduate of Tioga Central High School class of 1990. He attended college at Roberts Wesleyan and often told friends that he went to college for other reasons ~ one being, that is where he met the love of his life, Karen. Dan and Karen were married on August 14, 1993 and made Barton their home. Together they shared their love with their adoring children, Hannah, Caleb, Grace and Arianna. Dan was devoted to his family and his community. He was a devoted member of the Owego Nazarene Church, where he served as a role model and supporter of faith to many. Dan had such a caring heart and a great smile that will be cherished by many. He shared his love of basketball by coaching the Lady Sizzlers with his best friend, Greg Schweiger. "His Girls" all had a special place in his heart. Dan's greatest pleasure was being surrounded by his family and friends. You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide, tho' we cannot see you, you're always by our side Dan will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Karen (Barney) Manwaring; his adoring children: Hannah, Caleb, Grace and Arianna all at home; his parents: Henry and Lamoine Manwaring of Barton; his sisters and brothers-in-law: Karen and Kevin Wurth of Owego; Jill Manwaring Sylvester of Utica; Andrea and Casey Cerretani of Seatle, WA; Sarah and Daniel Humphreys of Florida; his mother-in-law and father-in-law: William and Cheryl Barney of Wellsville; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Diane and Matthew Kent of Jasper; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Doug and Kelly Barney of Wellsville; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends also survive.
