Greg Balchikonis

June 15, 1959 - July 29, 2016

God’s finger touched him and he slipped away from earth’s dark shadows to a brighter day….Our hearts were broken with the sudden passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather Greg Balchikonis, 57, of Warren Center, Pa on Friday, July 29, 2016. Greg was born on June 15, 1959 in Johnson City, NY a son of Rita Tokos and the late Walter Balchikonis. Greg was a graduate of the Johnson City High School Class of 1977 and proudly served his country with the US Army. For many years, Greg worked in commercial construction until 1997 when he fulfilled his dream of owning his own farm. Together with his wife Sandy they owned and operated Balchikonis Farms. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Greg treasured the time spent with his family. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing with his wife and working the land of his beloved farm. Greg will be greatly missed by his wife Sandra Balchikonis; his daughter Jessica (Ryan) Eisenhart; his sons: Jeremy (Jen) Balchikonis and Jacob Balchikonis; step-daughters Melanie (Chad) Sparbanie, and Kelly (Tanya) Gallagher; his pride and joy ~ his grandchildren: Jordan, Jayleen Eisenhart, Everly Balchikonis, Bradley, Cameron and Olivia Sparbanie; his sister: Cynthia Tokos; special cousins: Maria Rando and special aunt Joyce Tokos. Greg was predeceased by his wife and mother of his three children Rossana; his father Walter Balchikonis and his grandparents. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and time of sharing memories on Monday, August 1st from 6 to 8 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Interment and prayers of committal will be held at the convenience of the family in the Neath Cemetery.
