Mary E. Vandervort

June 12, 1942 — November 13, 2017

When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me, remember the love that we shared and that will comfort thee….On Monday morning, November 13, 2017 Mary E. Vandervort, 75, of Warren Center passed away with her family at her side. Mary was born on June 12, 1942 in Binghamton, NY a daughter of the late Frank and Arletta (Galusha) Willis. Mary was a graduate of Windsor High School and married Clarence Vandervort ~ together they made Warren Center their home. Mary and Clarence owned and operated the Red & White Store in Warren Center until 1977 when a fire claimed their home and business. Mary was an avid BINGO player, a collector of frog items and enjoyed rock painting ~ although she treasured her family time the most. She was also a member of the Warren Center Senior Citizens and TOPS Waverly 646. Those left to cherish her memory are, her children: Tammy (Gary) Timchack of Nichols, NY; Tom (Stephanie) Vandervort of Windham, Pa; Todd (Tobi) Vandervort of Warren Center, Pa; Tedd (Deb) Vandervort of Erie, Pa; her special grandchildren: Ed Timchack, Stephanie (Matt Vetter) Timchack, Lyndsy Vandervort, Tessa Vandervort, Mia Vandervort, Jerry Holstein, Wendi Vandervort, Nathaniel Vandervort, Jason Vandervort, Kyle Vandervort, Ryan Vandervort and Alexander Vandervort; three great grandchildren: XioMara, Zander, and Aleah. Her brothers and sisters-in-law: Frank (Barb) Willis of Windsor; Glenn (Penny) Willis of Candor; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Joyce Vandervort, Sue Ellen Carrington, Carl (Laura) Vandervort all of Warren Center, Pa; Karen (Alton) Dymond, of Owego, NY; Lorrie (Jack) Rogers of Endicott, NY; Megan Horton of Owego; Tim Vandervort and Jeff Vandervort both of Warren Center. Many nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Mary was predeceased by her husband Clarence in 1983; a infant son Timothy, and sister Loretta (Everett) Clapper; her mother-in-law and father-in-law: Clarence and Rachel Vandervort; her brother-in-laws: Roy Vandervort, Kenny Vandervort, Norman Vandervort, and Arden Carrington. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Saturday, November 18th from 10 to 12 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A funeral service and celebration of her life will follow at 12 pm with Pastor Larry D. Jennings of the Warren Center Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Warren Center Cemetery.
