Marymargaret Lantzy Downing Dillon of Nichols Although we are apart, your spirit lives on within us, always and forever in our hearts….Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother Marymargaret Lantzy Downing Dillon, 83, of Dean Street, Nichols went home to be with her Lord on July 13, 2007 following a period of declining health. Marymargaret was born on July 17, 1923 in Barnsboro, PA the daughter of the late Maurice and Mary Edna Lantzy. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Waverly, past president of the Nichols American Legion Post 1624 and a charter member of the Nichols American Legion Auxiliary. Marymargaret was a pillar of strength to her family and treasured the time spent with them. She was an avid Yankees enthusiast, enjoyed crocheting, knitting, crossword puzzles and being surrounded by her family. Marymargaret is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Diane and Gene Bostwick of Claremont, NC; her son Robert Downing of Nichols; eight gradchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, eleven great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many friends also survive. She was predeceased by her husband Robert G. Downing, Sr. in 1946; her husband of 53 years Max G. Dillon, Jr. in 2001; her daughter Nancy Downing Chico in 2006; grandson Ryan Bostwick in 2003; brothers Edwin Reese, Robert, Charles, Paul and Jack Greewood, J. William Lantzy and Simon Lantzy. Funeral services and celebration of Marymargaret's life will be held on Tuesday, her birthday, July 17th, 2007 at 12 noon at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 South Main St., Nichols. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Ithaca. A time of remembering and sharing with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, from 10 am until the time of the service at noon at the funeral chapel. Those who wish may kindly consider a memorial contribution to the American Cancer Society, 31 Adams Ave., Endicott, NY 13760 in loving memory of Marymargaret Lantzy Downing Dillon.
