A mother holds her children's hands for a little while and their hearts forever…..Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, Roberta Howe, 86, passed away Thursday morning, July 12, 2012 at the Riverview Manor Nursing Home. Roberta is survived by her children: Barbara and Richard Rogers, Betty and Robert McGrew, Lincoln and Shirley Howe, Shirley and Herb Paz; a brother and sister-in-law: Stanley and Shirley Whitman; sisters-in-law: Viola Padgett and Marion Ulrich; her grandchildren: Geraldine and Lloyd Forsythe, Lisa and Richard Relyea; Richard Rogers, Jr., Virgie and Glen Gazzola, Connie Petrusky, Robert II and Billy Jo McGrew, Amanda and Brandon Innerst, Adam Paz; James, Wendy, Chris Howe, Heather Galpin, Jennifer Howe; great grandchildren: Theodore and Nicole Harding, Elisha and Rowmain Tunnacliff, Michael and Dustie Shipman, Benjamin Shipman, Rebeca Richardson, Rachel Green, Bill and Amanda McGrew, Robin McGrew, Josh McGrew, Phillip and Bethany Petrusky, James, Amber, Erica Howe, Gregg Pond, Tiffany Kelly, Khris and Jolynn Galpin, Troy and Eric Howe; Jessica, Jason and Justin Relyea, Trinity and Wyatt Howe; great great grandchildren: Theodore, Mariah Harding, Rowmain, Vanessa Tunnacliff, Lillian, Joseph Shipman, Trey Richardson, Brook Graudons, Makayla McGrew, Zackary, Anthony Petrusky, Mia and Abby Howe. Several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Roberta was predeceased by her ex-husband Lincoln Howe, grandson: Timothy Rogers, great granddaughter Jolene Harding and life time friend Theodore C. Harding. Roberta was born on June 15, 1926 in Binghamton, a daughter of Sheldon and Geraldine G. Whitman. Roberta enjoyed sewing, crocheting, shopping although her greatest pleasure was being surrounded by her family. She will be greatly missed by all whose heart she touched. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and time of sharing memories on Sunday, July 15th from 6 to 8 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Funeral services and a celebration of Roberta's life will be held on Monday, July 16th at 1pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bill Kohler. Interment and prayers of committal will follow in the Gibson Corners Cemetery.
