Adeline M. Ryder

A mother holds her children's hands for a little while and their hearts forever….Surrounded by her loving family, Adeline M. Ryder, 83, of Sayre, Pa passed away peacefully on February 11, 2015 following a brief period of declining health. Adeline was born on April 12, 1932, in the Town of Barton, NY a daughter of Earl and Lena (Hollenbeck) Whitmarsh. Adeline was a retired employee of Sayre Lingerie. She treasured her family, enjoyed attending the concerts at Tioga Park in Athens, tending to her flower gardens, and loved animals. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, her greatest pleasure was to give whatever she had to others. Adeline lived her life to the fullest with grace, dignity, humor and courage. She will be forever remembered and forever missed. Adeline will be greatly missed by her daughters: Bonnie (Keith) Fairlie, Vicki (Lee) Eiklor, Regina (Robert) Haulton, Robin (Gerry Searfoss) Hatch, Amy (Brady) Gray; twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard C. Ryder, her daughter Diane M. (Ryder) Rider, brother Kenneth Whitmarsh and her parents Earl and Lena Whitmarsh. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Sunday, February 14th, from 3pm to 5 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A funeral service and celebration of her life will be held on Monday, February 15th at 11 at the funeral chapel. Interment and prayers of committal will follow in the Tioga Point Cemetery.
