No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye, you were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why….. Alan Dewitt Vanderpool, 33, of Windham Twp., Rome, Pa passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013. Alan was born on January 30, 1980 in Sayre, Pa a son of Jacqueline Hakes and Johnny Vanderpool . He attended school at Northeast Bradford and was currently working for Marcus Cole Construction. Alan was a well-known and talented singer. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors and could mechanically repair anything. His memory will live forever in our hearts. He will be greatly missed by his daughter Makenzie Vanderpool "The Fred", his mother Jacqueline Vanderpool, his father Johnny Vanderpool, his fianc Kayla Yereb; brother Joshua, sister Audra Hulings, grandmother Carlene Hakes, grandfather Arba "Al" Vanderpool; aunts and uncles: Brenda and Dale Vanderpool, Larry Vanderpool, Bona and David Vanderpool, Nancy and Curtis Brown, Leona and Tony "Tool" Di Censo, Gale and Ron Lumbard, Sheila and Steven Hakes, Jim and Lori Hakes; nieces and nephews: Makaytlin Vanderpook, Justice, Jayden and Jasmin Hulings, Brooke "Margaret" Heasley, nephews: Walker, Colton, Kage Vanderpool, Zeryk and Lucas Thurston; Kayla's parents, Reeves and Karen Menhennett, John and Sara Yereb; her brothers Reeves A. Menhennettt, Jayden Yereb, Jaxon Yereb and Brandon Shea; Alan's special friends: Michael McDonald, Richard Cole, Kevyn Thurston, Cletus Roediger, and Adam Tinkam; many cousins also survive. Alan was predeceased by his paternal grandmother Masu "Dotty" Vanderpool, maternal grandfather James Hakes, Sr., and a uncle Mark Hakes. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and time of sharing memories on Tuesday, March 19th from 2 to 5 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A memorial service and celebration of his life will follow at 5 pm with Pastor Larry Jennings of the Warren Center Baptist Church.
