Albert R. Hatch, 69, of Tallow Hill Rd., Spencer, NY passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at his home. Al was born on January 10, 1939 in Waverly, NY a son of the late Roland and Lela (Fisher) Hatch. He was a graduate of Candor High School class of 1958. Following graduation he enlisted into the US Air Force and proudly served his country for four years. Al was a former employee of NCR and Borg Warner and was currently employed at Wegman's. He was a member of the Candor American Legion Post 907 and the Waverly Masonic Lodge. Al enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, was an avid Snoopy collector, and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Al is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary E. (Bensley) Hatch; his children: Tina Hatch, Brian Hatch, Anita Mott, and Neil Hatch; his special grandchildren: Shaleena, CaSarah, Amber, Paulina, Ashley, Patrick, Alysta, Kenneth and Raquel. Siblings: Bruce (Ruth) Hatch; Florence Rennells, Gerald Hatch, James (Diana) Hatch, Norma Drake; sisters-in-law: Shirley Hatch, Kay Hatch, Ruth (William) Coil; Jane Sackett, Clara Bensley and Barb Bensley. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Al was predeceased by his parents, brothers Francis, Robert, and Walter; brothers-in-law: John Bensley and Melvin Sackett. A period of visitation and sharing memories will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 from 1 to 3 at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 South Main St., Nichols. A memorial service will follow at 3 pm. Interment will follow in the Nichols Cemetery where military honors will be accorded. Following the services a luncheon and time of sharing will be held at the Candor American Legion.
