Alga A. Ellis

Alga A. Ellis, 95, of Waverly, NY passed away on Wednesday evening, September 12, 2012 at the Elderwood Health Care Facility, where she has resided for the last several years. Alga was born on February 23, 1917 in Litchfield, Pa one of ten children to Lillian and James Ellis. A kind and loving person, Alga assisted in the care of others, enjoyed spending time with her farm animals and once had a cow named Augusta. Alga was predeceased by her parents, Lillian and James Ellis, her companion of many years Harvey R. Burgess, his children Raymond Burgess, Rodney Burgess, her siblings, Edward, Stanley, Carl, Wilson, Nick, George, Hilda, Norma and Bertha. Alga is survived by Harvey's children Robert Burgess, Gerald Burgess, Barbara (Gene) Rockwell, Blanche (Francis) McIntire, Eugene (Nancy Barton) Burgess, Martha (John) Meek, Phillip (Sharon) Burgess, Alice Crossett, Donald Burgess, LeRoy (Terrie) Burgess and their families, several nieces and nephews also survive. A period of visitation and time of sharing will be held on Monday, September 17th from 1 to 2 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with Pastor Richard Vanderpoel, officiating. Interment and prayers of committal will be held in the Nichols Cemetery.
