A life well lived is a precious gift, of hope and strength and grace, from someone who has made our world a brighter, better place…Alice (Dimon) Watson, 92, formerly of Milan, Pa and most recently of Zephyrhills, Florida passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Sayre Personal Care Home. Alice was born on October 31, 1925 in Allis Hollow, Pa the daughter of the late Leon Dimon and Geraldine (Lenox) Dimon Corbin. Alice was a 1942 graduate of Fayette High School in North Carolina. Following graduation she moved north and was employed at the Bacon Machine Shop in Towanda. It was there that Alice was introduced by her future father-in-law to her future husband, John William "Bill" Watson. They were married on September 22, 1945 and together raised five children. Alice was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She loved being a full-time mother and homemaker. Alice enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and others. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, bowling, camping and traveling through the US and abroad. Alice was a life time member of the Athens United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School. She also belonged to the Zephyrhills United Methodist Church and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Ulster. Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 72 years, John William "Bill" Watson; her five children: John William and Sue Watson, Gary and Mimi Watson, Connie Watson, Bonnie (Watson) Fraley, Dawn (Watson) and Larry Jordan; a brother and sister-in-law Richard and Louise Dimon; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Alice was predeceased by her parents; her brother James Dimon, sister-in-law Marge Dimon and a nephew David Dimon. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Monday, February 19th from 12 to 1 pm at the Athens United Methodist Church. A funeral service and celebration of Alice's life will follow at 1 pm with her pastor Rev. Helen Learn, officiating. Following the services a luncheon and time of sharing will be held at the fellowship hall. Interment and prayers of committal will be in the Wysox Cemetery.
