Archie L. Williams

July 2, 1933 — February 20, 2016

Archie Williams, 82, a longtime resident of LeRaysville, Pa passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on February 20, 2016 at the Wyalusing Personal Care Home. Archie was born July 2, 1933 to the late Wendall and Cora (Baker) Williams in Neath, PA. He graduated from LeRaysville High School. On June 16, 1954, he married Mary Schooley, who preceded him in death on April 22, 2005. Together they began their journey in life, starting with a small dairy farm that grew into a state of the art operation. Archie loved farming and being an integral part of his community. Together they raised six children. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was well known for his sense of humor and quick wit. He was deeply loved by the staff and residents of the Wyalusing Personal Care Home, who provided exceptional care for the last ten years. Besides his parents and his wife, Archie was predeceased by his sister-in-law Ellen Williams. Archie is survived by his children, Cindy Meade of Bedford, VA, Abby (Dan) Jones of Friendsville, PA, Susan Edsell of Endicott, NY, Patty (LaRue) Harkness of Rome, PA, Archie (Lisa) Williams Jr. of Loma Linda, MO and Mike (Jennifer)Williams of Roanoke, VA. A brother Carlton Williams; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A period of visitation and sharing will be held Tuesday evening, February 23rd from 5 - 8 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 Main Street, Nichols, NY. Funeral services and celebration of Archie's life will be held at the funeral chapel on Wednesday, February 24th at 11am with the Rev. Dr. Karen R. Ballard and his son, Pastor Archie (Skip) Williams Jr. officiating. Interment and prayers will follow at Neath Cemetery.
