Arden F. Carrington

Arden Fay Carrington, 69, of Orwell Twp (RR 1, Rome, Pa) went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 1, 2010. Arden was born on July 11 1940 in Sayre, Pa a son of the late Glenn and Zemma (Daugherty) Carrington. He was a graduate of Northeast Bradford High School class of 1959. On February 21, 1963 in Tioga Center, NY he married Sue Ellen Vandervort. Arden spent his youth growing up on a dairy farm, he was active in FFA at the local, county and state level. He continued to have a lifelong interest in farming. Arden was employed by Stoll, Abell & Stoll, Ashcraft Construction and retired following 35 years with Ingersoll-Rand. Following his retirement, Arden purchased a sawmill and enjoyed working with wood. He enjoyed fellowship with his church families at Windham Summit Bible Church and the Warren Center Baptist Church. Arden is survived by his wife, Sue Ellen; daughter Wendy Sue; sons Russell (Teresa) Carrington; Eric Carrington; grandchildren: Chelsea, Courtney, Gabriel, Bryton, Blake and Logan. His twin brother Tony (Regina) Carrington; brother Duane (Lois) Carrington; sisters-in-law: Ruth Carrington, Joyce Vandervort, Mary Vandervort, Karen (Al) Dymond, Lorrie (Jack) Rogers, Megan Horton. Brothers-in-law: Carl (Laura) Vandervort, Roy, Tim and Jeff Vandervort. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Arden was predeceased by his parents, brothers Richard in 1967 and Edwin in 2005. Brothers-in-law Edward, Kenneth and Norman Vandervort. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and time of sharing memories with the family on Wednesday, May 5th from 11 to 1 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm at the funeral chapel with Pastor C. Kenneth Crain and Pastor Larry Jennings, officiating. Interment will follow in the Rome Cemetery.
