Arlene V. Bennett

A mother holds her children's hands for a little while…..and their hearts forever ~ Arlene V. Bennett, 94, a life long resident of LeRaysville, Pa passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014 at the Bradford County Manor. Arlene was born on October 12, 1919 in LeRaysville, Pa a daughter of the late William and Carrie (Goodwin) Devine. She was a graduate of the LeRaysville High School where she participated with the basketball team. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother ~ she treasured her family and always looked forward to cooking Sunday meals. Arlene enjoyed spending time in her garden, watching the Yankee's, playing cards and being surrounded by those she loved so much. Arlene will be greatly missed by her children: Curtis and his wife Jolene Bennett of Elk Lake, Pa; Sandra and her husband Robert Wilmot of Rome, Pa; Diane and her husband Robert Strait of Elk Lake, Pa; Sharon and her husband Robert Brown of Rome, Pa; Albie Bennett of Elk Lake, Pa; James and his wife Paula Bennett of Stevensville, Pa; twenty grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Arlene was predeceased by her husband Albert Bennett in 1999; her parents William and Carrie Devine; brother Louis and Guy Devine and a infant sister. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Tuesday, July 8th from 11-12pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A funeral service and celebration of her life will follow at 12noon. Interment and prayers of committal will be in the Rushville Cemetery.
