Goodbyes are not forever, goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean we'll miss you, until we meet again…..Arthur M. Bowen, 78, of North Orwell, Pa passed away on Friday, June 28, 2013 following a period of declining health. Art was born on September 5, 1934 at home in North Orwell a son of the late Clifford and Clara (McCormick) Bowen. He attended school in Rome and proudly served his country with the US Army. Following an honorable discharge, Art returned to his home town and began to work for the Commonwealth Telephone Company and retired from CTec following 39 years of service. Art was a member of the LeRay Lodge #471 F & AM, LeRaysville and the North Orwell Union Church. Art was an avid fan of NASCAR fan, and also enjoyed golfing and hunting. He was always willing to give a helping hand to friends and neighbors. Art will be greatly missed by his wife of 53 years, Betty (Hennip) Bowen; his siblings: Gerry Connell of CT; Richard (Anna) Bowen of Windham, Pa; Judy Horton of Tioga, Pa; Alida Bowen of Virginia; Betty's siblings: Harvey and Teri Hennip, of Tioga Center, NY; Shirley and Preston Russell of LeRaysville, PA; Carol and Don Smith of Rome, PA; Bill Hennip of Rome, Pa; Gary and Marianne Hennip of Rome, Pa; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends also survive. Art was predeceased by his parents Clifford and Clara Bowen, his sister Mary Raupers and a nephew Robert "Bob" Bowen. Abiding with his wishes, funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Interment and prayers of committal will follow in the North Orwell Cemetery.
