When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me, remember the love that we have shared, and that will comfort thee.…. Life long and well respected dairy farmer Ashley C. Allyn, 87, of Irish Hill Rd., Warren Center, Pa passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa following a period of declining health. Ashley was born on September 17 1923 in Warren Center, PA a son of the late Merle and Mary (Dewing) Allyn. On January 30, 1954 at the First Church of Christ Church in Endicott, NY he married Cora Myers. As a young man, Ashley started as a logger and owned his own saw mill. A dedicated dairy farmer, Ashley started farming in 1953 and continued to operate the family farm until his health declined. Ashley was a member of the Warren Center United Methodist Church, the Warren Center Fire Company; a 74 year member of the Warren Center Grange and a member of the Pennsylvania State Grange. Ashley is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cora Myers Allyn; son Gary Allyn of Warren Center, Pa; daughter and son-in-law: Denise and Tom Davis of Neath, Pa; daughter Diane Golden of Newark Valley, NY; grandchildren: Ashlee Allyn, Chris Allyn and Amber Bahny; sister Alice Abell; sister-in-law: Marion O'Connor; many nieces, nephews and their families also survive. He was predeceased by his parents; a son Chris Robert Allyn, his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Leo and Pearl Myers; sister and brother-in-law: Beva and Milo Wilson; brother and sister-in-law: Audra and Ellen Allyn; brothers-in-law: Emerson Abell, Alvin O'Connor; sister-in-law: Mary Ellen Butler. Funeral services and a celebration of Ashley's life will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 11 am at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols with Pastor Larry D. Jennings, officiating. Interment will follow in the Warren Center Cemetery. A period of visitation and time of sharing memories will be held on Wednesday, June 1st from 3 to 8 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel.
