When someone you love becomes a memory….the memory becomes a treasure. Barbara A. Twigg, 74, of Stedman Street, Sayre, Pa. passed away with her family at her side on Monday evening, October 13, 2008. Barbara was born on May 14, 1934 in Pittsfield, MA a daughter of the late Charles and Betsy (Frazier) Pudney. She attended school in Athens. On September 3, 1950 at the Litchfield United Methodist Church she was married to the love of her life Robert E. Twigg in a double wedding ceremony with Lois and Tracy Silkman. For many years, Barb was employed as the emergency room clerk at the Robert Packer Hospital. She enjoyed playing cards, sewing, was an avid doll collector and shopping. Barb's greatest enjoyment was being surrounded by her family and her grandchildren. She was also an member/officer of the Sayre Redskin Club at Sayre School and served on the Sayre Republican political campaign. Barb is survived by her husband of 58 years Robert E. Twigg; her children: Robert Twigg and his wife Patty of Balston Spa, NY; Glenn Twigg of Litchfield, Pa; Sharon and her husband John Franklin of Sayre, Pa; Dana Rae Twigg and wife Toni of Sayre; Mark Twigg and his wife Laurie of Sayre, Pa; Deb Twigg and partner Susan Fogel of Waverly, NY; her grandchildren who were so very special and dear: Karleigh Twigg and finance Jon Antista; Kristin Twigg, James Twigg, Nicholas Twigg ; Taylor Twigg; Erik Franklin and fianc Kim Glab; Tyler Franklin; Zach Franklin, Lucas Franklin, Tiffany and her husband Justin Mayer; Ashlee Twigg and fianc Jimmy Terwilliger; Trevor Twigg; Troy Twigg; Jenna Twigg; and John Joseph Franklin Jr. II. Her siblings: Elwyn Kie of Upstate New York; John (Sally) Kye of Holland, NY; Marilyn (John) VanSon of Texas; Mary Lohr of Seattle, WA; Paul Bollen of Newark Valley; George "Billy" (Charlotte) Kie of Johnson City, NY; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Sally Kie, Frank Sickler, Janice Munn, Lois (Tracy) Silkman, Carol Babcock, Gerald (Lucille) Twigg; several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Barbara was predeceased by her sister Elizabeth Rice, brothers-in-law: Lavere Munn and Rodney Babcock. A time of remembering the special gift Barb was to all of us will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 4 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols with her friend, Pastor Jack Felt, officiating. A period of visitation and sharing memories will be held on Friday from 2 pm until the time of the service at 4pm.
