Barbara M. Forrest, affectionately known as Barb to her friends and family, passed away on February 22, 2026, at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Born on July 8, 1937, in Waverly, Barb's life was a testament to the power of love, friendship, and passion.

A proud graduate of Tioga Central High School, class of 1957, Barb's career was as diverse as it was fulfilling. She began as a beloved hairdresser at the Ethel Kelly Beauty Salon, where her warmth and meticulous work brightened the days of many. Barb's industrious nature later led her to roles at Robin Tech and IBM, showcasing her versatility and commitment to hard work. Always wanting to keep busy, Barb continued to work following her retirement at the Kwik Fill gas station.

Barb's interests painted a picture of a life lived with joy and enthusiasm. Since childhood, she had a profound interest in horses, and throughout her life, she found companionship and solace in these majestic creatures. Her love for animals extended to dogs and cats, each of whom found a caring and loving home with her. Gardening was another one of Barb's passions, with her flower gardens being a vibrant display of her care and attention to detail. An excellent cook and baker, Barb's apple pies were legendary within her circle, eagerly anticipated at family gatherings. Barb also had a interest in genealogy which allowed her to connect with her roots, piecing together the fabric of her family history with every discovery.

Above all, Barb treasured her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Shelly Forrest, Harold Jr. "Skee" and Cheryl Forrest, and her adored grandchildren, Sarah Mae Forrest, Jeff (Brandy) Noe, Gary (Rianna) Noe, Rob Noe. Her great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kendra, Kadin, Josh, Hailey, Dalila, and Dexter, will carry forward the spark of her loving spirit. Barb's sisters, Shirley Miller and Sandy Magnus, will remember her as a beacon of light, as will her numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert C. and Marion (Royce) LaPlante, and her brothers, Robert (Gloria) LaPlante and Richard (Carol) LaPlante.

Barb will be remembered as a loving, friendly, and passionate soul, whose presence was a gift to all who knew her.
