Barbara L. Roy

Barbara L. Roy, 89, a resident of the valley and Elmira Heights passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016. Barbara is survived by her daughter Terri (Robert) Banfield of Sayre; her grandchildren: Todd Banfield, Traci (Ryan) Frisbie; Tara Banfield; Eric Samchisen, Amy Samchisen, and Kelly Samchisen; step granddaughter Tessa Banfield; great grandchildren: Layla and Landon Banfield; several nieces and nephews also survive. Barbara was predeceased by her husbands William Samchisen and Ralphford Roy, her son Paul Samchisen; a brother Robert Miller and sister Violet Stewart. Barbara was born on December15, 1926 in Ridgebury a daughter of Lauren and Florence Miller. Devoted for caring for others, Barbara was a retired nurse at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Church Catholic Church, Waverly on Monday, November 7th at 10 o'clock. A luncheon and time of sharing will follow in the church hall. Interment will follow in the Hanlon Hill Cemetery.
