Bernadette C. Kithcart

of Nichols, New York

Bernadette C. Kithcart, affectionately known by her family as "Bernie," passed away on July 7, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on November 17, 1947, in Endicott, New York, Bernie was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. Her infectious smile and kind-hearted spirit will be profoundly missed by her cherished family and the countless lives she touched.

Bernie was the beloved matriarch of a large and loving family. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Carlton Jr. (Eppie) Kithcart, Christopher (Becky) Kithcart, Chad (Michelle) Kithcart, and Casey (Marci) Kithcart. Bernie's joy was multiplied by her grandchildren, Briana (Justin), Josh (Rachael), Bryant (Harley), Anna, Gavin, Katie, Emma, Ryley, Ryan, and Josie, and her great-grandchildren, Tristyn, Olivia, and Miavalin. She also leaves behind her sister Julie Hiblar, sisters-in-law Carol (Kelly) Hall and Debbie French, and several nieces, nephews, and their families. Bernie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Carlton Britt Kithcart, Sr., who fondly called her "Sport." She was also welcomed into heaven by her parents Bernard “Pete” and Hilda (Ryan) Clifford.

A proud graduate of Seton Catholic High School class of 1968, Bernie dedicated her life to uplifting others. She had a heart of gold and was passionately involved in her work as a Teacher's Aide for Broome-Tioga BOCES, where she worked with special needs students. Her compassionate nature and tireless efforts made a lasting impact on many young lives.

Bernie's world revolved around her boys, and she treasured every moment spent with them and their families. Her home was always filled with laughter, love, and the mouthwatering aroma of her signature prime rib and biscuits. She created a home filled with warmth, where family gatherings, especially during the holidays, were occasions of joy and togetherness.

A passionate supporter of her grandchildren's sporting endeavors, Bernie was their biggest fan, cheering them on from the sidelines with pride. Her love for music was evident, as she and Carl enjoyed Blue Grass Festivals together, and she often hummed along to the tunes of the Beach Boys and the Jersey Boys. She enjoyed dining out at local favorites like Nick's, Phil's Chicken House, and the Blue Dolphin

Bernie's life was a testament to what it means to be loving, kind, and friendly. She will be remembered as a woman who gave generously, loved deeply, and embraced life with open arms. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her, and her memory will be cherished forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
