Betty J. Bowen

Betty J. Bowen, 76, of Rome, Pa passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the Sayre Health Care Facility. Betty was born on August 10, 1940 in Sayre, Pa a daughter of the late Harvey and Anna (Donaldson) Hennip. Betty was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars and the North Orwell Union Church. She was a long time employee of Nichols Agway and Sharpening Shoe Store, where she always enjoyed visiting with those that would stop and visit. Betty and Art enjoyed traveling to Daytona to watch the races, cruising, and listening to country music. Betty was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Arthur M. Bowen and is survived by her siblings: Harvey G. (Teri) Hennip of Tioga Center, NY; William Hennip; Gary (Marianne) Hennip all of Rome, Pa; Shirley Russell of LeRaysville, Pa; Carol (Donald) Smith of Rome, Pa; many nieces, nephews and their families also survive. In addition to her husband Arthur, she was predeceased by a brother-in-law: Preston Russell. Abiding with her wishes, services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols.
