Betty J. Watson Searfoss

August 11, 1929 — April 17, 2014

Goodbyes are not forever, goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean we'll miss you, until we meet again…. Our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother Betty J. Watson Searfoss, 84, of South Macafee Rd., Sayre (Litchfield Township) passed away at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Duane Hunsinger on Thursday morning, April 17, 2014. Betty was born on August 11, 1929 in Garnett, Kansas a daughter of the late Theodore R. and Ollie (Mattison) Barker. A devoted mother and grandmother, Betty treasured the time spent with her family. Lovingly known and remembered by her family as "Big Red" ~ her quick wit and spunky characteristics will share a special place in their hearts. Betty enjoyed gardening, crocheting, fishing, watching classic movies with her daughter and a good glass of wine. Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Stacey and Duane Hunsinger of Litchfield, Pa; her sons and daughters-in-law: Charles and Elinor Watson of Lake Winola, Pa; Ted and Noreen Watson of Elmira, NY; Earl and Toni Watson of Athens, Pa; longtime friend Raymond Brown of Orwell, PA; a step daughter Deborah Searfoss and Family; sister-in-law Louise Walters of Orwell, Pa; her special grandchildren: Chad Watson and Sarah Seddon; Justin Hunsinger, Tonia and Kenny Piepher, Tony and Jenny Watson, Joie and Bill Rathburn, Jackie and Dave Manivanh, Brian and Toni Bloss, Mike and Lynette Bloss, Amy and Rob Aldlesburger, Jessica and Brady Rex; several great grandchildren ~ among them: Joshua and Holly Watson, Logan Piepher, Shania Piepher, Karissa, Anthony and Mitchel Watson, Kelsie Rathburn, Bill Rathburn, Emma Manivanh, Jasmin and siblings, Jared and Joel Rex. Betty was predeceased by her parents Theodore and Ollie Barker; her husband's Ward Edward Watson in 1967; Harold R. "Dutch" Searfoss in 2000; daughter Wardina L. "Sissy" Watson in 1969; a infant son; son Terry L. Watson in 1987; grandson Michael Watson and great grandson Chad Anthony Watson, Jr. Betty will be forever remembered and forever missed. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 1-2pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A memorial service and celebration on Betty's life will follow at 2pm with Pastor James Donahoo, officiating.
