Elizabeth J. "Betty" Keir, a cherished soul whose warmth and kindness touched all those around her, passed away on March 14, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on February 7, 1947, in Endicott, NY, Betty lived a life characterized by love, faith, and a deep commitment to her family and friends.

Betty is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 25 years, L. Dale Keir, whom she married in the picturesque setting of Mount Graham, AZ. Her legacy continues through her children Robert Skope and Danielle Lelik, and her stepchildren Robin and Kenneth Chilson; Scott and Tiffanie Keir. Her grandchildren Isabell Skope, Madyson Armstrong, Anthony Fuimo, Andrew Lelik, and Adin Lelik brought immense joy to her life. She will be missed by her siblings, Edie Mottern and Chuck (Pam) Ayers. Betty's memory will be cherished by so many, She was predeceased by her parents, Roswell and Vivian Ayers, her brother Roswell M. Ayers, Jr., her brother-in-law Gary Mottern, and her faithful canine companion, "Lady."

A proud graduate of Union Endicott High School, class of 1965, Betty's work ethic and dedication shone brightly throughout her career. She spent her life as a faithful worker at both IBM and Lockheed Martin, where she not only contributed her talents but also formed lifelong friendships, including her dear friend Pam Smith.

Betty's heart was always in the service of others, and her involvement with the Windham Summit Bible Church was a testament to her strong faith and commitment to her community. She was a loving and kind presence to all, and her faith-filled life was an inspiration. Betty's love for her family was unparalleled, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Her interests ranged from tending to her garden to crafting and seeking treasures at garage sales, activities that reflected her appreciation for the simple joys in life.

Those who knew Betty will remember her as a beacon of love and kindness. Her gentle spirit and unwavering faith left an indelible mark on the world. As Helen Keller once said, "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose; all that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Betty's love and the memories she created with those around her will indeed remain a cherished part of all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Wednesday, March 19th from 10 – 12 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A celebration of her life will follow at 12pm. Betty will be laid to rest in the Bumpville Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared by visiting her guestbook at www.sutfinfuneralchapel.com

Betty's life was a journey of love, faith, and friendship. Her presence was a gift to her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we say goodbye, we are comforted by the knowledge that her legacy will live on through the lives she touched and the love she shared.
