William Harold Card, 67, of Apalachin, NY, was surrounded by loved ones when he passed and began his new journey on January 1, 2023. He was predeceased by his father Benjamin Card, his beloved wife Rosemary Card and brother-in-law Glenn Haab. He is survived by his mother Virginia Card, siblings Deborah Haab, Wayne Card (Anna), Timothy Card (Cathy), Peter Card (Kay), Valerie Race (Al), his daughters Melinda Card Souder (Rob), Kristina Goodrich (Bob Parshall), his sons Bryan Goodrich (Kate), Eric Goodrich (Lynnette Hamm), Cody Goodrich (Kristin). He was blessed with 10 grandchildren (Trey, Urijah, Nevaeh, Ella, Corbin, Hadley, Harper, William “Mikey,” Christian, and Gabe) along with many nieces and nephews.
He honorably served in the United States Army from 1974 to 1980 as a Technical Drafting Specialist and a Military Policeman. He would talk endlessly about his experiences of the time he served in Alaska while deployed with the Army.
Bill was a general contractor and along with his best friend Randy Phelps, formed P&C Construction. He had wealth of knowledge, a passion for, and talent in the construction field. Bill would always go above and beyond to see projects through and made many friends while advancing his craftmanship.
Known as "Big Bill" to some, he would always voice his opinion during a conversation, would say what he meant and meant what he said. There was a softer side to him where his warm heart radiated underneath his obstinate exterior.
He was a devoted father and grandfather who was always there when needed. He was willing to help family and friends with home projects; where they will be reminded of the stamp he left. He adored his family and loved attending family gatherings where you could always count on him to arrive first, well before anyone. His family will treasure the many memories of him during the time they shared and will miss his sarcasm and silly playfulness. Bill managed his illness as he did with all his life happenings; with strength and hope.
