Bob

August 19, 1940 — July 19, 2024

Robert M. "Bob" Wargo, a cherished family man, and a pillar of the Warren Center community, passed away peacefully at his home in Warren Center, Pa, on July 19, 2024, following a period of declining health. Born to Michael and Elizabeth (Semach) Wargo on August 19, 1940, in Smith Township, Pa, Bob's life was marked by devotion to his loved ones and a spirited dedication to his community.

Bob was predeceased by his first wife Brenda (Painter) Wargo, his parents, and his brother William (Marlene) Wargo. His legacy continues through his wife Sally Wargo; his son Darrin Steele; his daughter and son-in-law Darcy and Joe Vrabel; his cherished grandchildren, Justin, Nicholas (Lucy), Carson, Logan, Raigan, who affectionately called him "Poppy"; and his adored great-grandchildren, Tanner, Parker, Chase, and Rhett. His memory will also be cherished by his brothers: John and Sheila Wargo; George and Vicki Wargo. Bob is also fondly remembered by Sally's children and their families: Linda and Scott Berry; Diane and Steve Mackey, Carol Peyer; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends from the Warren Center Community.

Bob dedicated many years of service to PennDOT, where he took pride in driving trucks and maintaining local roads. His industrious spirit also led him to work at Masonite and to drive for Tri-County Quarry. Bob's work ethic was matched by his commitment to his community, where he served as Treasurer of the South Warren Cemetery, was a member of the Warren Twp. Volunteer Fire Department, and cherished his time with the Warren Center Baptist Church. Each month, Bob eagerly anticipated the 1st Wednesday coffee gathering with the guys, a time for camaraderie and light-hearted attempts to "solve all the world's problems."

Bob's interests were as rich and varied as his life. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, whose passion for the game was infectious. An outdoorsman at heart, Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing, often sharing these experiences with friends and family. He and Sally found joy in the simple pleasures of life; they loved watching deer visit their home and playing dominos. Bob's love for his family was profound and unwavering. After the loss of Brenda, he lovingly cared for his grandson Carson and together they shared a special bond.

It was a romantic Valentine's Day in 2012, he married Sally, with their camper setting the scene for new beginnings. Together, they created countless happy memories, from visits to the casino to camping at Ives Run, to having family and friends visit. Bob's life was a testament to the words of Helen Keller: "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched—they must be felt with the heart." His loving, kind, and friendly nature was the heartbeat of his existence, felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation on Monday, July 22, from 11 – 1 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A funeral service and celebration of his life will follow at 1 pm. Bob will be laid to rest in the South Warren Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared by visiting his guestbook at www.sutfinfuneralchapel.com Those who wish may kindly consider a memorial contribution to the South Warren Cemetery, c/o Joe Vrabel, 843 Casterline Rd., Warren Center, Pa 18851 or the Warren Center Baptist Church, 883 Coburn Hill Rd., Warren Center, Pa 18851 in loving memory of Robert M. Wargo.

As we bid farewell to Bob, we will remember a life lived with warmth, generosity, and a gentle spirit. His love for his family was his greatest pride, and his contributions to his community have left an indelible mark. Bob's memory will be treasured in the hearts of those he leaves behind, as a guiding light of love and kindness. Rest in peace, Bob; your legacy endures.
