Bruce W. Zorn

Bruce W. Zorn, 71, of Tioga Center, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, September 1, 2017 following a period of declining health. Bruce was born on August 24, 1946 a son of Jerrine (Seaver) and the late Irving Zorn. He was a graduate of Tioga Central High School class of 1965. At the age of sixteen, Bruce joined the Tioga Center Fire Department and treasured the many years of friendships he made there. Following high school Bruce worked for Ward VanScoy ~ and assisted his family and cousin Gary Deming in the operation of the family farm. Over the years, Bruce wore many hats ~ many will remember him as a meat cutter for Harris' Food Line and Hollenbeck's IGA. Always carrying a smile, many of the children of Tioga Central will remember him as their loyal bus driver. In addition he also worked for D & B Trucking and served as a deliveryman for NAPA Auto Parts. His greatest pleasure was being surrounded by his family, traveling, spending time in the pool and always looking forward to the annual Halloween Party. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home. Those left to cherish his memory are his mother Jerrine Zorn; his wife Cheryl "Itchy" Perry-Zorn; his daughters: Nicole (Jeff) Barnard of Vestal; Brittney Briggs of Tioga Center; his brothers: Lewis W. (Cheryl) Zorn; Brian P. (Patricia) Zorn all of Tioga Center; his sister Tammy L. Moyer of Owego; his special grandchildren: Jeffrey, Emily, Hannah, Megan; his niece Lisa (Craig) Benninger; a nephew: Travis Moyer; a great niece Destiny; many special friends among them Fran "Harley" and Liz Fisher; Dave Cole; his dog Daisy and cat Freddie. Bruce was predeceased by his father Irving Zorn; a daughter Kellie Mae Zorn; and his brother Kenneth F. Zorn. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Wednesday, September 6th from 4 to 6 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A celebration of his life and time of sharing memories and stories will follow at 6 pm.
