C. Anne Bartlow

A mother holds her child's hand for a little while and their hearts forever.....Surrounded by her loving family and those who meant so much to her, C. Anne Bartlow, 78, of Bartlow Rd., Athens, Pa passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014 at her home. Anne was born on March 25, 1935 at the home of her grandmother's in Towanda, PA a daughter of the late Leon "Bill" and Charlotte (Whyte) Watkins. A kind and gentle woman, Anne worked as a housekeeper at the Heritage Nursing Home in Athens. In 1953, she married Donald Edward Bartlow, Sr., they shared 46 years of marriage until his passing in 1999. Anne was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Waverly. Many will remember her and the visits she made as a AVON representative. Anne enjoyed crocheting, cooking for her family and friends. She treasured her family, had a heart of gold and will be missed by her family and friends. Anne is survived by her children, Donald E. Jr. and his wife Ann Bartlow of Athens, Pa; Rebecca Taylor of Athens; Daniel Bartlow of Syracuse, Vicki Newman of Johnson City, NY; her brothers Tim Watkins of Warren, Pa; Tom Watkins of Waverly, NY; a sister Sharon Watkins of North Carolina; her special grandchildren: Donald E. (Jen) Bartlow, III, Kyle Bartlow, Trisha (Jake) Scarinzi, Andrea Bartlow (Joe Tigue), Eric Bartlow (Kaylee Sheffler), Elizabeth "Libby" Lawson (Jason Miller); Stephanie Bryan, Christopher Coe, Tammy (Nathan) Wilsford; great grandchildren: Olivia, Stella, Hayden, Kendra, Karlee, Hailey, Kara, Owen, Leah, Logan and Luke. Several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Anne was predeceased by her husband Donald Edward Bartlow, Sr. in October 1999; sons David Lee Bartlow in 2003 and James Bartlow in 2008. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 5-6 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A celebration of her life will follow at 6 pm at the funeral chapel.
