Carl F. Deming

Carl F. Deming, 68, of Crumtown Road, Spencer, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the Cayuga Ridge Nursing Home in Ithaca. Carl was born on October 1, 1945 in Waverly, NY a son of the late Herbert W. and Isabel (Thompson) Deming. He was a graduate of Tioga Central High School Class of 1964. For many years, Carl was employed as a milk tester for Dairy One in Ithaca. Devoted and dedicated to dairy farming, Carl also took pride in raising and showing horses. Carl is survived by his wife of nearly 35 years, Carol (Wood) Deming; his sons and daughter-in-laws: Gary and Leighanne Deming of Owego; James Deming of Waverly; his daughter Stacy Surine; step son Joseph Conigilaro of Virginia; his sisters and brothers-in-laws: Norma and Richard Stocum of Owego; Linda and Ed Bronson of Florida; a half brother Herbert "Sonny" and his wife Christine Deming of Florida; his grandchildren: Cody, Chad, Gary, Arianna, Stewart, Charlene, Elizabeth, and Tonya; step grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Jack; seven great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Wednesday, August 27th from 11 to 12pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A memorial service and celebration of his life will follow at noon. A private family interment will be held in the Nichols Cemetery at a later date.
