If love could have saved you….you would have lived forever. Our loving husband, son, dad, brother and grandpa Carl F. Pierce, Jr., 50, of Halsey Valley passed away due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Saturday evening, April 11, 2009. Affectionately known by his family and many friends as "Ick", he is survived by his wife Ami (Clark) Pierce, his father Carl F. Pierce, Sr., daughters: Carla Pierce, Shawna and Arica; stepchildren: Tiffini and Justin; brothers Calvin Pierce, Clifford (Nancy) Pierce, Curt (Kim) Pierce, his grandchildren: Lexis, Marah, Zaelea, Leilani, Matthew and Stewart; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends also survive. Ick was predeceased by his mother Marion E. (Carlyle) Pierce on July 21, 2004, uncles: Leon Pierce, Henry Carlyle,Boyd Carlyle, and Bill Pierce; Aunt June Marie Pierce; maternal grandparents: Helen and Emerson Northrop, paternal grandparents: Kenneth and Nellie Pierce. Ick was born on June 24, 1958 in Waverly, NY a son of Carl F. Pierce, Sr. and the late Marion E. Pierce. He was a graduate of Spencer-Van Etten High School class of 1975. Ick was an avid race enthusiast, enjoyed hunting, fishing, had a great passion for bowling and snowmobiling. Although his greatest pleasure was found being surrounded by his family and friends. He was a former employee of Kost Tires in Owego; Owego Contracting and was currently employed as a mechanic at Middendorf Tractor in Nichols. Silently we grieve and brush away the tears. The memories that you left behind will last throughout the years. A time of remembering the special gift Ick was to all of us will be held on Saturday, April 18th at 11 am a the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 South Main St., Nichols with Pastor Richard VanDerpoel of the Halsey Valley United Methodist Church. A period of visitation and time of sharing memories will be held at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel on Friday evening from 6 to 9 pm.
