Wanzo, 87, of Battle Creek Rd., Athens went to his heavenly home on Monday, November 14, 2016. Carlton was born on December 9, 1928 at home in Windham Summit a son of Fred and Lettie (Eiklor) Wanzo. He attended grade school in Windham Center and was a graduate of the Rome High School. For many years, Carlton and his wife Betty owned and operated Wanzo's Archery Shop. Carlton's heart was broken on July 30th 2007 when his loving wife of 54 years, Elizabeth passed away. His greatest joy was being a farmer and living on the hill. Carlton was a devoted member of the Windham Summit Bible Church and the Westbrook Masonic Lodge #333 F & AM. He enjoyed fishing, archery, golfing and spending time with his family. Carlton will be greatly missed by his daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Howard Horrocks of Chemung; son and daughter-in-law Larry and Deb Wanzo of Nichols; sisters-in-law Hilda Robertson of Florida; Bonnie Thomas of Florida; eight special grandchildren: Nicole, Mindy and her husband Travis; Becky and her husband Steve, Tabatha, Jacksin, Michelle and her husband Dan; Amy and her husband Robert; and Michael. Several great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Carlton was greeted into heaven by his parents, his loving wife Elizabeth Wanzo, a brother and sister-in-law: Herman and Mildred Wanzo. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Thursday, November 17th from 6 to 8 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Masonic services will be conducted at 7:30 pm at the funeral chapel. A funeral service and celebration of his life will be held on Friday, November 18th at 11 am at the Windham Summit Bible Church, 7544 Battle Creek Rd., Rome, PA 18837.
