Carolyn P. Russell

Surrounded by those she loved so much, Carolyn Parks Russell, 70, of Taylor Hill Rd., Rome, Pa passed away on Friday evening, September 5, 2014. Carolyn was born on January 26, 1944 in Sayre, Pa a daughter of Daryl and the late Doris (Rolls) Parks. Devoted to her family, Carolyn treasured the time spent with them. An avid photographer, she enjoyed traveling and spending time reflecting in the Adirondacks. She also enjoyed scrapbooking the many photos she had taken and researching her family's genealogy. Carolyn was in partnership with her family in the operation of Tige-r-Luv Dairies; and owned and operated Hops Hill Farms with her husband Dewey. She later served as secretary for their business Mountain Hardwoods, Inc. Carolyn was member and former board member of the Bradford County Historical Society and served as secretary of the Orange Hill Cemetery. Carolyn will be greatly missed by her husband of nearly 31 years, Dewey Russell; her children: Shelley (Rodney) Ford of Orwell, Pa; Brenda (Matthew) Walters of Wilawana, Pa; Trevor (Alexandra) Briggs of Manassas, VA; Wendy (Robert) Base of Potterville, Pa; step children: Cory (Stacey) Russell or Orwell; Aaron Russell of Orwell, PA; Sabrina Russell of Austin, TX; her father Daryl Parks of Sayre; her sisters and brothers-in-law: Judy (Dick) Tobbe of Sayre/Florida; Penny (Roy) Peterman of Nordmont, Pa;; Sandy (Walter) Robinson of So. Hill, Pa; her brother Jim (Debbie) Parks of Gillette, PA; sister-in-law: Cindy Millard of Sayre, Pa; sixteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and her feline companion Missy also survive. Carolyn was predeceased by her mother Doris; a brother Donald Parks; special aunt Leona McCreary and a nephew James Parks. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Monday, September 8 from 4 - 7 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Funeral services and a celebration of Carolyn's life will be held on Tuesday, September 9th at 11 am at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dan Martin, officiating. Interment will follow in the Orange Hill Cemetery. Following the services a luncheon and time of sharing will be held at the Rome Methodist Church hall.
