Catherine A. Handzo

Surrounded by her family and those who meant so much to her, Catherine A. (Kovalick) Handzo, 80, of Boardman Rd., Rome, Pa passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2014 following a long courageous battle with Cancer. Catherine was born June 2, 1934 in Elizabeth NJ; one of 3 children of John and Barbara Kovalick. Catherine & John were married in Kaneohe Hawaii in 1954 where John was stationed in the US Marine Corp. They started their family together in Linden NJ and lived there prior to retiring in Rome PA. Catherine worked for NJ Bell Telephone Company for 25 years. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and shared so many of her makings with others to cherish. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she very much loved to talk with daily. She shared her love and support to many of her children's friends growing up in their younger years. Surviving are her husband John of 60 years, 3 children, Kathy, John and Marylou, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; Brother John and family and brother-in-law Paul. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass and celebration of Catherine's life on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 11 am at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 106 3rd Street, Towanda, PA 18848.
