Catherine L. Henson

If we could have one time wish, one dream that could come true, we'd wish with all our hearts, for yesterday and you ~ Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and friend Catherine L. Henson, 82, of Owego, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, August 15, 2017. Catherine was born on June 9, 1935 on the family farm on Fred Catlin Road in Owego ~ a daughter of the late Ida "Birdie" (Welch) Fish. On March 21, 1953 she married Francis R. Henson and together they have shared sixty-four years of marriage. For many years, Catherine worked at Stackmore Furniture and Crown Industries but her greatest love was sharing her heart for many area children as their day care provider. Cathy treasured the time spent with her family and also enjoyed tending to her gardening, watching the birds and traveling. Those left to cherish her memory are, her loving husband Francis; her children: Laurie and Rick Magargle of Barton, NY; Gregory and Rhodalee Henson of Owego, NY; Francie Rae Henson and Bryan Ellis of Locke, NY: her special grandchildren: Jennifer (and husband PJ) Goodwin, Josh (partner Coral) Bellis and Tonya (Corey) Ridgway, Jennifer Clatterbuck, Heather (Jason) Misel, Jake (Freddie) Magargle, Mickey (and friend Nikole) Hurlburt, Amy (Jason) Sweeney, Courtney (Zach Atchison) Rhodes, Barbara (and Toby Relyea) Rhodes; great grandchildren: Lexi, Gabriel, Lincoln, Lorelei, Christian, Wyatt, Emma, Zander, Katniss, Allyson, Jacob, Jeramiah, Justin, Colton, Thomas, Carter, Talon, Bentley, Oakely, Ashley. Many nieces and nephews among them a special nephew Randy (Diane) Bennett; a sister-in-law: Veronica "Mae" Apalovich; and her dear friends Corinne Seaver and Rose Raupers. Cathy was welcomed into heaven by her mother, her father and mother in-law, her grandson Gregory Wayne Henson, Jr., great grandson Hunter Hurlburt; brothers and sisters-in-law: Delbert Henson and Fay Henson; Doris Grey, Ethlyn Miller, and Pearl Bennett.
