Charlene K. Roberts

March 31, 1938 — June 13, 2022

Softly in the morning, you heard a gentle call. You took the hand God offered you and quietly left us all…. Charlene K. Roberts, 84, of Nichols went home to be with her Lord on Monday, June 13, 2022 following a period of declining health. Charlene was born on March 31, 1938 in Sayre, Pa a daughter of the late Charles Henry and Laura Elizabeth (Mason) Harding. She was a graduate of Athens High School class of 1956. On July 16, 1960 she married David E. Roberts and together they have shared nearly 62 years of marriage. Charlene was a devoted member of the Sayre Christian Church. She faithfully served others by serving many bereavement dinners and lovingly cared for many in the nursery. A loving wife, a devoted and caring mother and grandmother, her greatest pleasure was to give to others. Charlene enjoyed quilting, sewing and making crafts. There was always a sewing project started and she was always willing to help others in need. For many years, Charlene opened her heart and home to care for many children who lovingly called her "Gramma Charlene". As the holiday's approached, many will remember Charlene and Dave as they transformed their home into a Holiday village for many to enjoy. Charlene will be greatly missed by her loving husband David; her son and daughter-in-law: David Jr. and Anita Roberts; her daughters: Jean Ann Roberts; Patricia Ann Roberts-Reaves; her sister Marcella Nichols; special grandchildren: David E. III (Jennifer) Roberts; Laura Roberts; Wesley M. Parkhurst; Emily S. Parkhurst and Ashley Murden. Her great grandchildren: Emily, Dominic and Eleanor Rose. Several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Charlene was predeceased by her parents; and her siblings: Warren, Jack, Jane, Marion and William. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Thursday, June 16th from 6 - 8 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel. Memories and condolences may be shared by visiting her guestbook at www.sutfinfuneralchapel.com Flowers will be provided by the family and they request that memorial contributions be directed to the Sayre Christian Church, 427 S.
