A life well lived is a precious gift, of hope and strength and grace, from someone who has made our world a brighter, better place. Charles B. Campbell, 88, of Nichols, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the Robert Packer Hospital. "Chuck" as he was affectionately known by his family and friends was born on June 10, 1928 in Sayre, PA a son of the late Harlan and Arline (Potter) Campbell. He was a graduate of the Nichols High School. As a young adult, Chuck delivered milk door to door for Deming's and later worked for J. D. Robertson & Son. On July 17, 1948 he married Priscilla Anne Goodwin together they shared 66 years of marriage until her passing on September 13, 2014. Together in 1951, he and Priscilla began the operation of the farm and together Chuck and Priscilla owned and operated the family dairy farm in Nichols which is still operated today by their son. Chuck enjoyed hunting and loved his John Deere equipment. He was a 63 year member of the New York State Holstein Association, the National Holstein Association, New York State Corn Growers, and National Corn Growers Association. A social member of the Nichols American Legions and the Sayre VFW Post 1536; and a member of the Owego Loyal Order of Moose. Chuck will be greatly missed by his children: Sally (Charles) Dyer of Endicott, NY; Charlene (Dale) Lang of Auburn, NY; Paul (Carol Petty) Campbell of Nichols; his grandchildren: Kristena Rudolph, Patrick Stauder, Jennifer Fitzpatrick, Scott Shirley and Janette Mahunik; ten great grandchildren and his canine companion Sheena. He was predeceased by his wife Priscilla and a sister Norma. Abiding with his wishes, services will be held at the convenience of the family.
