Charles W. Babcock Sr.

Charles W. Babcock, Sr., 87, of Nichols passed away on Wednesday evening, November 17, 2021 at the Elderwood Health Care Facility in Waverly. Charlie was born on January 17, 1934 in Nichols, NY a son of the late Archie and Mary (Tripp) Babcock. He was a graduate of the Nichols High School and proudly served his country with the US Army. On August 7, 1957 he married Mina Louise Sherwood and together they shared 57 years of marriage until her passing on June 10, 2015. A long time farmer, Charlie enjoyed spending time on the farm and being outdoors. He had a true passion for hunting and fishing although his heart was truly into farming. In addition, Charles assisted his son Charles in servicing vending machines. Charles is survived by his children: Charles Jr and Cate Babcock of Nichols; Wayne Babcock of Rome, Pa; Diane and Jack Roboski of Reading, Pa; Chet and Shannon Babcock of Nichols. His world was blessed with thirteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. His brother Harry Babcock of Nichols; sister Lillian Cheeley of Nichols. Several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Charles was predeceased by his parents; his wife Mina; siblings: Archie "Buster" Babcock and a sister Virginia Baldwin.
