Constance "Connie" Marie Dutton

A life well-lived is a precious gift of hope and strength and grace from someone who has made our world a brighter, better place. Constance Marie Dutton, 76, of Cady Ave., Nichols passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 following a period of declining health. Connie as she was affectionately known by her loving family and friends, was a life long resident of Nichols. She was born on July 2, 1935 a daughter of the late Earl and Nellie (Olmstead) Dutton. Connie was well known throughout the community as a hard worker, a reliable and loving babysitter and a very caring person. Connie was a member of the Nichols United Methodist Church where she was a member of their "Friday Crew" She opened her heart and arms and was known as "other mother" to Barry Dutton, Kelly Dutton Edsell, Alan Dutton, Richard Cole, Carl Cole and Lori (Cole) Somers. She will be greatly missed by her family and for the awesome Coconut Cream Cake she made. Connie is survived by her sisters: Althea Lewis, Jean Henry; brothers: Jack Dutton; Jay (Carol) Dutton; she is also survived by her very special niece and best friend, Charlene Katchuk; nieces and nephews: Ronald Henry; Gary (Carol) Henry; Bonnie Walker; Doug (Diane) Rogers; Charlene (Larry) Katchuk; Terry (Debbie) Rogers; Todd (Carla Bendock) Rogers; Carol (Michael) O'Toole; Cindy Nye; Barry (Edlyn) Dutton; Kelly (Joel) Edsell; Alan (Rachael) Dutton and their families. Connie was predeceased by her parents Nellie and Earl Dutton; sisters: Harriet Rogers; Catherine Nye; brothers: Leroy and Franklin Dutton; nieces: Barbara Lewis, Beverly Bell and Becky Henry. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of Connie's life on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 2pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols with her pastor, Rev. Daniel Martin, officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Nichols Cemetery. A period of visitation and time of sharing memories will be held on Saturday from 1 until the time of the service at 2pm.
