Curtis W. Keeney

Curtis W. Keeney, aged 65, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024, following an extended decline in health. Born on November 8, 1959, in Sayre, Pennsylvania, Curtis's life was marked by his adventurous spirit, his handy skills, and his amiable nature that endeared him to many.
Curtis spent his final days in the loving care of his brother and sister-in-law, Brett and Candy Keeney, where he was surrounded by the warmth and comfort of family. His resilience and strength were evident throughout his life and shone brightly even during his illness.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy (Wheaton) Keeney. Curtis's legacy also lives on through his former wife and caregiver, Sindy Garey, whose support was unwavering; his siblings, Brett and Candy Keeney, Paul (EJ) Keeney, Shannon Keeney, and Jill (Stacy) Brink; as well as through his cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who were like family. Curtis was predeceased by his father, Wayne K. Keeney, and his sister, Crystal.
Curtis's professional life started at the Day Hollow Vet center where he was the grounds keeper/ handy man, along with driving the vet from farm to farm treating any large animal in need. This is where he grew his passion for helping animals of all kinds. His next adventure was spent as a dedicated Waste Water Treatment Technician at Tri-City Metal Fabricating in Binghamton NY His commitment to his work was matched only by his passion for life outside of it. An avid enthusiast of classic cars, Curtis took great pride in working to restore his 1967 Camaro to its former glory, even if he was never able to complete his dream this was a testament to his meticulous and skilled hands. Curtis and Sindy shared a love for the open road, often found riding motorcycles together. His sense of adventure also led him to the thrill of casinos, where he enjoyed the companionship of his sister Shannon. Moreover, Curtis's love for drag racing reflected his appreciation for speed, precision, and the spirit of competition.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Curtis will be laid to rest in the Darling Cemetery. As we bid farewell to Curtis we celebrate a life lived fully and with purpose. His journey may have come to an end, but the adventure of his spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him.
