If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, we'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again….Daniel F. Morris, 57, of Nichols passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013 following a brief period of declining health. Dan was born on January 15, 1956 in Waverly, NY a son of Fay F. and the late Julia (Williams) Morris. He was a graduate of Tioga Central High School class of 1975 where he participated with football, basketball, track and field. Dan was a master carpenter and former employee of Peterson's Construction. He treasured the time spent with his family and will be remembered as a excellent cook. In addition to his father, Fay F. Morris of Nichols, Dan is survived by his wife Sherry Morris of Owego; his daughter and son-in-law: Cristina and Jason Rossi of Nichols; his siblings: Bruce and Ann Morris of Tioga Center; Rebecca McDonald of Utica; Peggy and Eric Moyer of Spencer, Andy and Leslie Morris of Watkins Glen; Jennifer Hanford of Owego. His special grandchildren: Giovanna, Valentino and Vida. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Dan was predeceased by his mother Julia on November 4, 2007. A gathering for family and friends will be held on Monday, October 7th from 5 to 7 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols.
