Darlene Chaffee Erickson

When tomorrow starts without me don't think we're far apart for every time you think of me, I'm right here in your heart.... Darlene Chaffee Erickson, 89, of Sayre, Pa passed away from Lewy Body dementia on July 4, 2020 at the Bradford County Manor. Darlene was born on January 29, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Gerald and Doris Mae Eilenberger. Following the passing of her parents, she came to live in Towanda with her grand-aunt and uncle Elizabeth and William Chaffee - who lovingly adopted her at age 16. Darlene was a graduate of Towanda High School class of 1949 and then attended Lycoming College. She also attended Traphagen School of Design in New York City and Rutland Business College. She married Kenneth Erickson from Rutland, VT in 1951. Darlene was employed by the General Adjustment Bureau in Rutland, VT. In 1961, they moved to Sayre, Pa with their 2 children Diana and Leslie. She was employed by the Sayre area school system for 22 years. Following retirement, she enjoyed helping her daughter with her business in Sayre for many years. Darlene enjoyed gardening, reading, knitting and sewing for her family. She will be greatly missed by her daughters and son-in-law: Diana E. Fell; Leslie and George Hoke; her grandchildren: Heather (Shane) Reed; Trevor (Sylvia) Fell; Shaun (Emily) Hoke; Brittany (Colin) Mayner; her great grandchildren: Corey, Tyler, Valorie; Leighton, Stella, Isaac and Dallas. Darlene was predeceased by her parents Gerald and Doris Eilenberger; her grand aunt and uncle who raised her, William and Elizabeth Chaffee; and her husband Kenneth W. Erickson.
