David "Alan" Collins, 68, of Elmira, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2024, just shy of his 69th birthday. Born on March 18, 1955, Alan was the son of James and Patricia (Vaughn) Collins. David lived a quiet life characterized by dedication to his family, his work, and his passions.

Alan's life was enriched by the love and companionship of his family. He is survived by his brothers, Rick Collins, Jay (Robin) Collins, James (Pam) Collins, Patrick (Bonnie) Collins, and his sister-in-law, Lois Collins. Alan held a special place in his heart for his niece Holly and nephews Timothy and Ryan, with whom he shared a unique and enduring bond. His large extended family will fondly remember his kindness, humor, and the love he generously extended to all.

In addition to his parents, he is now reunited with his beloved wife, Marcia Collins, who preceded him in death in 2019, and his brother Chris Collins. Alan's legacy of warmth, integrity, and resilience will continue to live on through the lives of those he touched.

Alan spent his career as a skilled machinist at the former Paxar Corporation in Waverly, NY, where his meticulous work and steadfast reliability earned him the respect and friendship of his colleagues.

A man who found solace in the serenity of nature, Alan was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He cherished the time spent in the tranquility of the woods, a pastime that brought him great joy and peace. His love for the outdoors was more than a hobby; it was a testament to his appreciation for life's simple pleasures and the beauty of the world around him.
