Dennis N. Reed

Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear… Dennis N. Reed, 88, of Owego passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 10, 2021. Dennis was born on November 28, 1932 in Oaktree, NJ a son of the late David B. and Beatrice (Heintz) Reed. He proudly served his country with the US Marines. A knowledgeable mechanic, Dennis was employed at various body shops throughout the area. Dennis enjoyed spending time at the casino and often times was quite lucky! He had such a caring heart and was always willing to do for others, especially his neighbors. Dennis will be missed by his family: his companion Carol Reed, his son David E. Reed; daughter Deborah (Earl) Stoltzfus. His granddaughters: Morgan E. Stoltzfus and Aeryn M. Stoltzfus. His sister Nancy Dieter. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Dennis was predeceased by his parents; his brothers David, Richard and Robert Reed. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Thursday, May 13th from 1 to 2 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Those attending are requested to practice appropriate precautions for health concerns when at the funeral home to include wearing masks and practicing social distancing. A service will be held at 2 pm. Dennis will be laid to rest at a later date in the Nichols Cemetery.
