Dever R. Allyn

Dever R. Allyn, 80 Dever Allyn, 80, formerly of 49 Kelsey Road, Candor, NY passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at the Tioga Nursing Facility, with his daughter Judy by his side. He was born on May 11, 1927 in Warren Center, Pa a son of the late Fred and Myrtle (Koffman) Allyn. He was a retired representative for the New York State Insurance Fund. Dever loved to fish and hunt especially with his beagle Belle and brother Hartley. He always looked forward to his friends~Cloyd Manzer, Harley, David Hollenbeck and his sister Laura visiting him at the nursing home. Dever is survived by his children Phyllis (Robert) Dodzweit, Edward Allyn, Judith (James) Barrett, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, his brothers Eugene (Nora) Allyn, Hartley (Jean) Allyn, sister Laura Jean Strunk; sister-in-law Gladys Allyn, brother-in-law: Ralph Cressman, numerous niece, nephews and their families also survive. He was predeceased by his sisters Geraldine Cressman and Phyllis Brennan, brother Henry Allyn, brothers-in-law John Brennan and William Strunk. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 11 am at the Lounsberry United Methodist Church.
