Dolly Rose Vajda

A mother holds her children's hands for a little while and their hearts forever….Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother Dolly Rose Vajda, 92, of Athens, Pa passed away on Thursday morning, April 16, 2015. She was reunited and greeted in heaven by her husband James Vajda, Sr. and close family friends Isabelle and Andy DiGivonni. Dolly was born on February 5, 1923 in New Brunswick, NJ one of eight children to Frank and Constance (Defino) Carvello. Dolly enjoyed playing BINGO, cooking, crocheting, and visiting with her friends at Page Manor, although her greatest enjoyment was being surrounded by her family. For many years, many will remember Dolly as a waitress at the Lounsberry Truckstop. Dolly will be greatly missed by her family, her son and daughter-in-law: James and Frances L. Vajda of Windham; her daughters and sons-in-law: Carol Ann Linville and Enis Grey of NJ; Dolly Constance and Charles Talcott of Nichols; her special grandchildren: Debbie, James III, Brad, Brenda, Darlene, Albert Joseph, John Paul, Jamie Lynn, Caroline Constance (and fianc Zachery Franklin); great grandchildren: Kayla, Sophia, Andrew, Cole, Jetaime Michele, Albert Joseph Jr., Karagin, Autumn Trinity, Joshua Patrick, Lillie Erin, Marcus-James, and Charles Arthur III; a special friend and caregiver Jean Rosengrant; many nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Dolly was predeceased by her husband James; her siblings Anna, Katie, Josephine, Mary, Francine, Sam, and Thomas. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and time of sharing memories on Monday, April 20th from 11 - 1 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Funeral services and a celebration of Dolly's life will follow at 1 pm with Pastor Dan Martin, officiating. Interment and prayers of committal will follow in the Valley Home Cemetery, Windham.
