Domonic “Nick” David Conover, 52, of Buchanan, VA and formerly of Endwell, New York passed away at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 following a three year battle with cancer.
Nick as he was known by his family and friends was born on May 31, 1972 a son of Patricia A. (Martin) Conover and the late Larry W. Conover of Endwell. He was a graduate of Johnson City High School class of 1990. He was a devoted father to his daughter Emilie Rose Conover.
In addition to his mother, Patricia and his daughter Emilie, he will be greatly missed by his sister and brother-in-law Chastity and Kenneth Cinquenti, sister Beth Ann Solcum, and brother Walter Melzer; his girlfriend Megan Howe; and many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. He was predeceased by his father Larry W. Conover; his maternal grandparents Graydon and Alice Martin; his paternal grandparents Edward and Romaine Conover.
Domonic proudly served his country for three years in the US Army. He was stationed in Germany and with the United Nations in Bosnia. Upon an Honorable discharge, he trained to be a professional truck driver. He loved to drive and explore the United States. A loving father, he treasured the time spent with his daughter Emilie Rose. He loved to spend time outdoors, camping, kayaking, listening to country music and being around people. Domonic had a great sense of humor and just loved life.
Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Saturday, July 19th from 11 – 1 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A memorial service and celebration of his life will follow at 1 pm with Pastor George Budine, officiating.
