Donald B. Merrill

Surrounded by those who he loved so dearly, Donald B. Merrill, 88, of Nichols, NY passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017. Don was born on July 26, 1929 in Windham Township, Pa a son of the late Clifford P. and Eleanor J. (Ackerman) Merrill and step son of Ethel Merrill. Don was a graduate of Rome High School and for many years was employed as a furnace technician for Scott Smith & Son. He was the nicest man to grace all of our lives and will be greatly missed. Don is survived by his loving fiance Joyce Harvey; his children: Stephan (Penny) Merrill, Debra (Dennis) Blair, Linda (Scott) Davis, Pam (Rich) Roberts, Dawn Merrill, Donna (Shaun) Valentine; his sister Phyllis Bartholomew ; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; Joyce's extended family and his beloved dog Duke. Don was predeceased by his daughter Gale L. Merrill, his wife Beverly Merrill. Abiding with his wishes services will be held at the convenience of the family.
