When someone you love becomes a memory….the memory becomes a treasure ~ Our hearts were broken when a sudden tragic accident took our loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend Donald R. Parks, 63, of Athens, Pa passed away. Don is survived by his wife Cindy Parks, his father Daryl Parks; daughters: Renee and James Kellogg, Amy and Lance Lattimer, Barb and Tom Strope, Sharon Sanchez, Carol Holle, Krista Decker, Betsy and Justin Smith; his sons Justin and Liezel Decker; Josh Decker and Kathryn Glutera. His sisters: Carolyn and Dewey Russell, Dick and Judy Tobbe, Penny and Roy Peterman, Sandy and Walter Robinson, brother Jim and Debbie Parks; his grandchildren: Erin and Bob Butler, Bart and Takako Matthews, Devon and Adam Pepper, Donald, Logan and Alex Kellogg, Emily and Seth Lattimer, Cody Windsor, Kristina and Seth Schaefer. His great grandchildren: Nickolas, Nathan and Nolan Schaefer, Wyatt Butler, Bridger Pepper and Takara Matthews. His mother-in-law and father-in-law: Gordon and Gretchen Millard; Cindy's siblings, Gene Millard, Sayre, Jeff and Carrie Millard of S. Carolina, Jerry Millard and Dawn of Indiana, Coralee and Dave Eskew, Lockwood, Kathy and Bill Wilson, Waverly, Lori Millard of Nichols, and Sam and Amy Millard of Athens Pa. several nieces, nephews and their families, and the Orange Hill Gang also survive. Don was predeceased by his mother Doris, step-mother Betty Thetga Parks, wife E. Rae Parks, grandson Brandon George,nephew James E. Parks, aunts Leona McCreary Beverly Callear. Don was born on September 5, 1949 in Sayre, Pa a son of Daryl and the late Doris Rolls Parks. He was a graduate of Athens High School class in 1967. Don owned and operated Parksknoll Farms on Orange Hill in Athens with his father until 1989. Don was currently serving as President of the Orange Hill Cemetery and was most recently employed by Lowe's in Sayre. Don loved to spend time hunting, fishing, and especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a gentle loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, Don will be much loved and forever missed. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and time of sharing memories on Saturday, October 20th from 5 to 9 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Funeral services and a celebration of Don's life will be held on Sunday, October 21st at 1pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols with Pastor Dan Martin, officiating. Interment and prayers of committal will follow in the Orange Hill Cemetery.
