Donald G. Wilson, affectionately known as Don, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, at the Azalea Senior Care Facility in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Born in Monroe, Michigan, on June 4, 1938, Don's life was a testament to his loving, generous, and faith-filled spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion to family, service to his country, and commitment to his community.
Don was a proud graduate of Monroe High School's class of 1959 and soon after took the noble path of serving his country in the United States Navy. His patriotism and dedication were a reflection of his character, and those who knew him were always inspired by his unwavering integrity.
On June 30, 1962, Don married the love of his life, Mary Lou Gauntt, who predeceased him on September 30, 2020. Their union was one of true partnership and mutual respect, and together they navigated life's joys and hardships with grace.
Professionally, Don dedicated 25 years to Bristol-Myers Squibb as a Batch Operator, a role in which he was highly respected and valued by his colleagues. Prior to that, he worked diligently in the housekeeping department at Middlesex Hospital, always taking pride in his work and striving for excellence in every task.
Don's Christian faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was a member of the Warren Center Baptist Church, where his presence was a source of comfort and strength to the congregation. His service extended beyond the church walls, as he also contributed to the Warren Township Fire Department as Fire Police, displaying his commitment to the safety and well-being of his community.
He is survived by his children: Donald (Patricia) Wilson, Kenneth A. Brewer and Art Wilke, Debbie M. Wilson, Monica and Bryce Everson. His love and guidance will be deeply missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive him and will cherish his memory. Don was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary Lou, his son Loran, his sister Sonja and brother-in-law M. John Robinson, as well as his parents, Loran and Pauline (Huggen) Wilson.
Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Friday, October 3rd from 10 – 11 am at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols.
