If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane….we'd walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again. Doris M. Erle, 86, of South Street, Athens, Pa passed away peacefully at home, Friday morning, September 5, 2008. Doris was born on January 13, 1922 in Tioga Co., NY a daughter of the late Irwin and Bessie (Coleman) Theetge. For many years, Doris opened her heart to serve the elderly at their homes. Doris was a former member of the North Rome Wesleyan Church, she enjoyed crocheting and treasured the time spent with her family. Doris is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Janice and William Rowe of Ulster, Pa; Laura and John Clark of Athens, Pa; her son and daughter-in-law: Gary L. and Merna Osborne of Harrison, Ark. Her grandchildren: Gary Osborne, Jr., Christine and her husband Dave Karpinski; William Jr. and his wife Karen Rowe; Connie Edsell; Angela and her husband Nick Sheeley; Walter Rowe, Amy Barker, Annette and her husband Derek Whipple, Erin and her husband John Collins; Ray Fowler, Erica Fowler; step grandchildren: Jennifer and her husband Charlie Kithcart, Bona Seelye and John Clark Jr. Numerous great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Doris was predeceased by her first husband Walter Osborne, her second husband Bernard Erle; a son Lloyd Osborne; and siblings Marvin (Janice) Theetge; Melvin (Carly) Theetge; Franklin (Charlotte) Theetge. Funeral services and celebration of Doris' life will be held on Monday, September 8th at 4 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols with Pastor C. Kenneth Crain of the Windham Summit Bible Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Nichols Cemetery. A period of visitation and sharing memories will be held at the funeral chapel on Monday from 2 pm until the time of the service at 4 pm.
