Doris R. Basos

Doris R. Basos, 79, of Cady Ave., Nichols, New York passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, December 11, 2008. Doris was born on October 10, 1929 in Camden, NJ a daughter of Joseph D. and Margaret (James) Reid. A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother she treasured the time spent with her family. Doris is survived by her children: Michael C. (Patricia) Kinney, Bonnie L. (Robert) Kinney-Card; Charles T. Jr. (Susan) Kinney; Joseph D. Sr. (Dawn) Kinney; George B. (Linda) Basos; Kathy L. (James) Basos-Hamlin; Shawn L. (Michael) Basos-Bostwick; seventeen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and their families also survive along with her friends at the school house apartments. Doris was predeceased by her siblings: Robin "Bud" Reid, Lillian Croffutt and Margaret Newhart. Funeral services and celebration of Doris' life will be held on Sunday, December 14th at 2 pm a the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 South Main St., Nichols with Pastor Wayne Sibrava, officiating. Interment will be in the Nichols Cemetery. A period of visitation and sharing memories will be held on Saturday, December 13th from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral chapel and on Sunday from 1 pm until the time of the service at 2 pm.
