Philip "PeeWee" Stephens, 80, of Owego, NY passed away on October 3, 2019. PeeWee was born March 5, 1939 in Sayre to the late Raymond J. Stephens and Phylis M. Storozow weighing only 6lbs and fondly nicknamed "PeeWee" by the nurses. Pee-Wee was a graduate of Vestal High School. He assisted his father in their coal, top soil and block business driving truck, later working for Stair Lumber and eventually became a self-employed logger. On October 24, 1959, showing up over 30 minutes late on his wedding day, he married the love of his life, Sylvia Covey. Celebrating 60 years together this month. He enjoyed NASCAR, woodworking, the outdoors and being with his family. PeeWee will be greatly missed by his wife, Sylvia; his children: Jody Stephens, Philip (Cathy) Stephens, Cameron Stephens and Shannon (Greg) Taylor; his grandchildren: Stephen, Aaron, Robert, Philip, Kaitlyn, Alexis (Chris), Kelsey (Josh), Marissa (Shayne) and Abigail; his great grandchildren: Tristin, Logan, Gavin, Braden his sister: Joanne (Kenneth) Williams and several nieces, nephews and their families. He will also be missed by his "surrogate son" Jim Miller and Gail Vinson. He was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Phyllis Stephens and his son Jim. Abiding with his wishes, a private graveside memorial for immediate family was held Friday, October 4th.
